The Poplar Room is a 'motel-style' suite in a shared house. Each room has it's own private entrace off of a shared porch. There are two rooms with doors onto the front porch, and two rooms with doors onto the back porch. There is also an attic unit. This listing is for one bedroom/bathroom in the house. The Poplar Room is on the main level, and is entered via the front porch. Parking is a short walk down a gravel path to the building. Inside the room, there is a queen bed, full bathroom, mini fridge, and Keurig. The room features a minisplit for heating and cooling, is on county water, and has fast wifi. There is no seating inside the room. However, the covered front porch has rocking chairs. The covered porch is shared with the unit next to the Poplar Room. There are several communal fire pits and communal trails on the property.  The Poplar Room is located among a small collection of vacation rentals. The property has access to trails on Alabama state-owned land that lead to views of the Eastern side of DeSoto Falls. This state land is extremely private as most locals and visitors go to the access point across the falls. The property is bordered by the wooden Appalachian-style Mentone Wedding Chapel. Shady Grove Horse Ranch is also a neighbor -- contact them in advance if interested in scheduling a horse back ride to the Falls. Please note that access to the property is paved roads until the final 0.7 mile. The last section is a dirt road which has ruts in places. This should be accessible in most vehicles however we recommend driving slowly and using caution. Reach out to us if you have any questions.
